The golf team teed it up on Thursday, April 27 at the Conference match in Neveda, MO at the Frank E. Peters course.
“It started off a rainy day but things started to pick up once the weather got nicer and we started playing like we usually do,” said Junior Zac Racy.
The team was hoping to bring back the first place trophy but fell short and got third place.
“It was an up and down day. We came out strong hoping to get that win but the Neveda team was ruthless. We got third place, so it was an ok day,” said Senior Nick Chazcar.
The team leaders were: Senior Devin Keen, who scored a 78; Sophomore Cole Elling, who scored an 80; Sophomore Tony Mike Bonadona, who scored an 83; and Senior Nick Chaszar, who scored an 84. It added up to a team total of 325.
“We played alright as a team and had four kids make the All-Conference team,” said Elling.
The Golf team is moving on to Districts at Smithville on May 1st and will be playing at Paradise Point. They are hoping to win Districts and qualify as a team for Sectionals.
“I hope the team does great and can pull off a win at Districts so we can move onto Sectionals and bring back a trophy for Pius,” said Coach Parsons.
