There have been two brand new editions to this year’s basketball season: drumline and live broadcast.
The X Factor broadcasting team has been attending one home game a week and live streaming a play-by-play show. The team started with the football game against Warrensburg, but couldn’t go live during football season due to the lack of WiFi at the field. Now, basketball season has arrived and the team has new aspirations of live streaming big match-ups on their YouTube Channel.
“My favorite part of doing the live-stream is that we have a great team that works hard and diligently with each other, and we can see our improvements every time we work together,” said Junior German exchange student Robert Lange.
Lange is one of the videographers on the team. The live-streaming may be for the people who are unable to go to the games but even the players like the publicity.
“It gives people who missed the game, or those who can’t make it, an opportunity to see the game the way we see it when we watch film,” said Junior and starting forward Johnny Conforti.
The SPX Basketball team will have their next game today, December 16th, at Smithville High school and it will be live-streamed.
Along with the new edition of live broadcast, the music program has expanded to including a drumline. Six students are enrolled in the course with more to sign up in the future. Drumline will be scheduled to perform at most home basketball games.
