As a part of a Catholic school, it is important that each student has an opportunity to live out their faith. The SPX Ministry Team makes that happen. Students from different grades, genders, and religious affiliations join together to make a difference in their own world.

There are four branches of SPX Ministry Team: Liturgy Team, Pro-Life Team, Street Ministry Team, and the Peer Ministry team. Each branch works together to accomplish projects. The Liturgy Team, headed by Senior Arcadia Mejia, is in charge of planning for the Mass. They work to give each student a wonderful experience with the Sacraments.

The Pro-Life Team, headed by Senior Caroline Ramsey, works for the recognition of the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death. Pro-Life projects include: praying at abortion clinics, throwing baby showers for overwhelmed new mothers, and supporting local pregnancy resource centers.

Junior Vincent Cascone is the leader of the Street Ministry team, who meets every second Tuesday of the month to minister to the homeless of Kansas City.

The Peer Ministry team, lead by Senior Hanna Ly, works directly with the students. They leave signs of positivity all over the school, and organize prayer services for students.

If interested in joining the SPX Ministry Team, all are warmly welcomed! The team has a brief meeting every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month in Deacon Elsey’s room. There is no mandatory commitment! Keep up to date by looking at the SPX Ministry Board located by the Senior locker bay on the boards outside of the library.
